ABOUT CHINDERERA

AN AFRICAN GEM

A private lodge that specializes in catering exclusively for between two to six guests, and is nestled peacefully in the coastal forests of KOSI BAY in the north eastern corner of South Africa.

Kosi Bay is the ‘Crowning Jewel’ of the iSIMANGALISO Wetland Park, The only UNESCO World Heritage Marine Reserve on the African continent, (proclaimed in 1999). Bordering Mozambique, Kosi Bay forms the tribal home of the Tsonga people (Zulu & Shangaan).

ECO LODGE

We invite you to unwind and absorb the peace and tranquillity of the area, and to explore the wild beauty of this unique ecology and sanctuary.

The lounge, dining and bar decks at Chinderera Eco Lodge, are built around a central water feature, shaded by the forest canopy. An inviting ambience for guests to enjoy alfresco dining, the towering trees and the abundance of life that abounds in their inter-twining branches.

CUISINE

The cuisine at Chinderera draws its inspiration from African tastes and flavours. Using fresh and locally sourced produce, each meal is prepared with a personal touch adding to the exceptional experience.

Menus can accommodate vegetarians, and special provision can be made for other specific dietary requirements. Dietary preferences will be planned with you in advance of your arrival.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

AN EXCLUSIVE EXPERIENCE

Wild yet peaceful, truly unique

''Not easy to describe Chinderera, as it is a very special place,

even after having seen a lot of Southern, Eastern and Central Africa, the heartwarming welcome, and only two Chalets.

Pam, Bill, and Trevor, their deep love of nature, lovely food, bush and lonely white-sandy beaches, amazing snorkeling spots, ... this place has got everything to become a legend.''

R. Weber
Graz, Austria
"At night you can sit at the Dining area, at the Bar, by the Fish pond or by the Fireplace, and just enjoy the peace and quiet. Pam's cooking is amazing! You can feel the love in every dish.

The quality of the ingredients, the creativity of the dishes, the presentation, and the whole ambiance in which it is served, is just a delight, knowing they are located in a very remote part of South Africa, where it is not easy to find certain ingredients.

We will definitely be back!''

Renard Antwerp

''Unforgettable African experience in wild natural beauty...

In this amazingly beautiful area of natural beauty, there are some awe-inspiring hiking trails with Trevor, who has an unrivaled knowledge of local flora and fauna, as well as the amazing snorkeling spots.''

Simon Geschwindt
Cape Town, South Africa
''Our snorkeling adventure with Trevor, in Kosi Bay was unlike what you would experience with a tour operator.

Trevor had us wait for the perfect tide coming in from the Ocean, as we swam with the gentle current viewing the ''Aquarium'' of tropical fish, coming into the Estuary.

...an experience like no other.''
