OUR MOST DISTINCTIVE EXPERIENCE
The Bhanga Nek Immersion
Lodge, community camp, lodge. Three nights that take you into Kosi Bay, not just past it.
Three Nights, Not Just One Day
Most lodges will show you Kosi Bay. This one takes you into it. A structure we’ve only run a handful of times — every guest who’s done it has come back describing it as the most memorable part of their stay.
Settling In
Your first night is spent at Chinderera as usual — settling in, meeting Trevor, getting a feel for the place.
Into Bhanga Nek
The same boat crossing and fish kraals as our Lake & Coast day, but instead of returning that evening, you carry on to the Bhanga Nek community camp for the night. Your guide hosts and caters for you there, walking you through the area, the community, and the coastline in a way a single day trip simply can't. Real walking too — stretches of untouched coastal sand forest, the kind of trail that exists nowhere near a paved road.
Back to Chinderera
Boat, lake, home to Chinderera for a final night — time to look back on what you've just been part of.
Good to Know
Because a night is spent at a real community camp rather than a hotel, this experience has limited capacity and needs advance booking — the boat, the camp, and our guide all need notice to arrange properly. That’s not a limitation, it’s what makes it authentic. Turtle season (November to February) can be added to extend this into an even fuller immersion.
